The ‘Ultimate Tip’ for YouTube ads

Were you able to follow all the steps down to the ‘Placements’ option? Great! My efforts paid off. Now, this is where the ‘Ultimate Tip’ comes in, and I want you to minimize this tab for a minute!

This placement option in Google ads allows you to run ads on particular channels and videos. You are able to copy-paste the list of YouTube URLs that you want to display on your ads.

Now the question bewildering you right now would be ‘How to get YouTube URLs?’ and ‘Which YouTube URLs you should be getting?’

No worries, there is an easier way to do this. But first of all, I need you to think about what kinds of videos your customers might be interested in.

Your customers might not be looking for videos that are specifically about your products. They might be interested in topics surrounding your product.

For example, if I am selling hiking gear, then ideal my customers would be interested in videos related to ‘hiking tips’ or ‘best places to hike’.

If I am selling SaaS products, then my ideas customers could be seeking technical help regarding their business, and your product just might be the solution.

The key is to put yourself in your customer’s shoes and start looking for the YouTube videos and channels they might be interested in.

Once you have figured out what videos you want to target for your YouTube ads, you can simply start copy-pasting those URLs into your excel sheet.

You can even use scrapping tools to help you with this process. My go-to tool for data scrapping is ‘Instant Data Scraper’. It’s a Google Chrome addon, easy to use, and works like a charm every time!

Let’s go back and finish our first YouTube video ad:

  1. Click on the ‘Enter’ tab inside the placement option and copy-paste all the URLs you have extracted from YouTube.
  2. The next step is select what video you want to run as an Ad
  3. To select the video you want to display in your ad, first, you will have to upload it to your YouTube account.
  4. Once this is done, go to the ‘Bidding’ option and select your maximum CPV
  5. Click on the ‘Create Campaign’ button and select the video ad format and click the ‘save format’ button.

And this is now your first targeted YouTube video ad is running.
